I am a glass artist, primarily working with kiln-formed glass, creating functional and sculptural pieces. In my current work I use a strip construction technique; by placing strips on edge adjacent to each other, I can blend colours and play with light. I am a glass artist, primarily working with kiln-formed glass, creating functional and sculptural pieces. In my current work I use a strip construction technique; by placing strips on edge adjacent to each other, I can blend colours and play with light. The varying temperatures in the kiln let me experiment with the flow and textures of glass as I explore the relationship between wind and water. Working with glass brings me a sense of calmness and I instil that feeling into each of my pieces for the viewer to experience as well.

I heat art glass in a kiln, mixing a kaleidoscope of colours, with a little bit of paint here and the occasional metal inclusion there. I then properly anneal it to ensure quality and durability. I take great effort to coldwork the pieces into pleasing shapes with a beautiful, clear polish. Others may be sandblasted to a satiny, matte fin

My work explores the relationship between wind and water. The sense of calm and motion is what I most like to capture in my glass.
